Why we started
Mandai began with a car purchase that came down to guesswork.
Our founder was replacing a Subaru Outback with something that used less fuel but kept the ground clearance Nairobi roads demand. Time was short, and the research was harder than expected. Most reviews covered cars as sold overseas, not the trims that reach Kenya, and the information was scattered across many sites.
The purchase worked out, but it should not depend on luck. So we built the resource we wished existed: one place with clear, local information for Kenyan car buyers.
